M A G I S T R I

МАГИСТРИ

Professor Evgenii Dainov, M.A. (Oxon.), Head of Department, New Bulgarian University - guitars, vocals, song composition

Ivo Popov, M.A. Owner and CEO, AlphaLift Co. (lift software) - drums

Yulian Traikov, M.A. Owner and CEO, Miko Co. (advertising and design company) - bass

Plamen, M.A. Owner and CEO (construction control company) - vocals

Doni, M.A. Professional musician (LZ) - keyboards

The band was put together in late 2005 by Evgenii and Ivo, who had previously played together in the cult-revolutionary band of 1988-1991 ESGRAON.

Plays Sofia rock clubs and open-air festivals on an irregular basis, but works out at about one gig every 6 weeks. 90% own compositions, a few covers of major classics (Red House, Little Wing, Tush etc).

Over the past few months the band has been upgraded from Wednesday spots in the rock venues to Saturday spots; and from daylight to night-time slots in the open-air festivals. Which means we must be doing something right...

No recordings as yet because of the ultra-perfectionism of the rhythm section (Ivo and Yulian claim we are not ready for a studio, which I disagree with but am unable to out-vote). But national TV will be running the latest festival event, and there are live 16-channel recordings from this and other gigs; so maybe a doctored "Magistri Live!" of some kind is the feasible project for the coming months...

Discussing "Sofia"...

Feel free to participate in this public group space.

Two easy ways to do this:

  1. Add a comment or a question here - on this page... or on any other page in this space.
  2. Or, if you want to start a separate thread - make a new page.

Either way is good - the important thing is your participation. On Tutmanik, people support each other by speaking out and by paying attention to each other - as simple as that.
